A few weeks ago I called the sales number on their website and got a guy. I talked to him a while because I was wondering about the status of the company and he said they were basically restructuring and kind of beat around the bush. My buddy's detector needs servicing and he told me upfront they were backed up and not to expect a fast turn around. If you haven't tried calling the main sales number then you may want to try that just to maybe get someone on the phone. He tried telling me about their newest detector when I told him I had another friend who had been looking to purchase a detector.

Web site is down too. I tried calling and got a message that they can’t keep up with call volume and are aware the web site is down. It doesn’t sound good...

Maybe someone you know lives close to there and can do an "eyes on" for you.

I just was online and see at least one dealer dropped Tesoro as they had reason to believe Tesoro was on the way out...

Anyone live in Prescott AZ that can help me get the detector back?

Guys I sent in my sand shark in 6 months ago, not a peep from them. I’ve called and left a message every month, no call back! They have my detector I DONT THINK ILL BE SEEING IT AGAIN! Anyone hear anything else about Tesoro? I might be out a 400.00 dollar detector 
Man, I sure hope not. Stay at it in giving them a call for a follow up. Best of luck to you.

Some on Facebook report they have been able to talk to Tesoro, supposedly one person is working repairs but they are behind by months. You might try some Tesoro Facebook pages.

I sent my Sand Shark in to be repaired when I heard they were in trouble. It took several months to repair. The guy who I spoke to told me that he was working through them. I know they laid a lot of people off so maybe he was the only one doing repairs. I got mine back fixed with a new coil. Give it some time. I don't believe they would keep your detector. They may be in trouble but they still were standing by their product.

Sunday 20 October 2019: I called the number on the brocure that came with my new, unopened uMax (I got it about a year ago). I got a recording that said something like, "We are going out of business and will not be accepting any new repairs. If we have your machine in for repairs, we will call you and not ship it out until we can confirm your address."

Seriously they’re out of business? What happened? I just spoke with them last year

They laid off everyone. Just wasnt enough sales and they refused to go to detector with screens. Good or bad most buyers now want screens..

I’m still good with their lineup, of having no screen and learning the tones. I guess too many new comers just can’t handle it without a target ID on there

I think it was a lot more than lack of screens. First, they gave a lifetime warranties and even let people transfer warranty to re-buyers. Second was that they havent produced new technology in LOOOOONG time. You can keep repackaging the same toy in a new box and expect it to keep people interested.

That’s true there. It’s like a turd, you can paint it, polish it, but it’s still a turd. I really enjoyed their Vaquero, my modded Cibola, but I’m a relic hunter so it didn’t bother me not to have a screen. When I coin hunt I use my other machine with target ID. Their downfall with which a lot of companies fall victim to is the fact of having a good product, and sales, and why change something that’s already good. They didn’t change the Cibola or Vaquero except change stickers from the old style, then add in the Black lineup on them both. I wish I the Vaquero back, and I might even trade my Fisher 1280-X for one in really nice shape. Cause I’m not just going to give it away.

Well did you ever get your Shark back? I can have sympathy for a company going under but that is just wrong to not send back your machine. My next vacation would be to Prescott.

I’ve had a company do that. It was a privately owned gunsmith business, whom I was really good friends with. He worked with me at the water treatment plant, and in the afternoons when his shop was open, and weekends I’d go down there just to see how things were going. He passed away suddenly due to a brain aneurysm one day, and his soon to be ex wife didn’t even call an ambulance until 2 hours later after seeing him suffering. Needless to say I didn’t get my pre 64 Remington 30-06 back, or my 45-70. So I’ve been there, I’ve also owned almost every Tesoro since their early beginnings till the latest, and unfortunately I no longer have any of them. If I ever had a problem Rusty was always quick to get it in and back out to me in no time flat. So sad to see a nice older company go down hill. Their Compadre, Cibola, and Vaquero lineup were amazing. I modded the Cibola right after I got it, and got the Vaquero not long after, and both were killer civil war relic machines. The Cibola was also a great coin hunter too

I sent a Tiger Shark out for repair on 3/16/20. Didn't hear from them for weeks so called the number. Got the voicemail saying mailbox was full. I checked UPS tracking it appears the item was sent back to the UPS office I sent it from. Not Good.

Well I’d you get it back then it’s good for you, I’d not then I’d be pissed. We all knew they were out of business for quite a while now, plus when I called around Feb to confirm it I didn’t get an answer and also got the vm that was full after I called 4-5 times that week
