Is this .25 cent rock RED LAVA???

Hello. I found this rock at a thrift shop. It looks like it might be lava rock. (Sorry for the bad photos... the color looks like the darker picture rather than the close ups)
 

Could be industrial slag . Man-made

Could be pumice ... volcano ... boom ... frothy lava.

Both can be all shades of red.

To rule out pumice drop it in a bucket of water,if it doesn't float it's not pumice.

No I didn't. I found it and a piece of amber that I bought with a bunch of rocks... I think whoever donated them was hunting for rocks. There was also a trilobite fossil that I didn't buy.

You should have bought the trilobite as well. Some of them are very rare & command high prices.
