is this a musket ball?

My wife found this today in the field where we hunt arrowheads. It is very heavy for its size. It has a flat spot on one side as if it hit something. The pics are rough I know...I need to take more pics in natural light. Please tell me what you think. Thanks!

lead or iron? It looks like iron from the pictures, if so, then 'no' it is not a musket ball, they would be made of lead, but grape shot from a cannon would be iron, so it could still be related to the war.

From what it looks like on the dime it looks like it's about a .44 caliber. It looks like it has a seam of mold mark around the ball. It could be either a civil war pistol ball or a ball from a Kentucky or Pennsylvania rifle
