Is this a plated ring, or 8K?

Looks gold filled by the photos... but the "8" gives pause... That is not a Euro hallmark i recognize and would more than likely be marked with "333" if it were from Euro.

At first glance I assumed it was plated due to the amount of corrosion, but after cleaning with vinegar the corroded areas appeared to be gold as well. The ring was deep, likely buried 100 years or more, and I've never seen plating hold up that well, usually just a few flakes left. I've also dug 10K corroded rings. Could it be that 8K leaches copper after enough time?
