Yep

Only war nickels have the mint mark above the dome

I knew that but im not sure if its the mint mark, or a glob of solder/metal stuck to the coin as its in really bad condition(the whole coin was a black disk before i soaked it in soap water)

Sure looks like a P to me. Compare the sound of it on stone or glass to a regular nickel, or to be completely sure, weigh it.
