This is an "End of the Trail" Pendant, looks chizzeled or hammered, can anyone tell me what material it is from the photos,
possibly sterling silver or pewter? Thank you CAM08677.webpCAM08678.webpCAM08685.webpCAM08690.webpCAM08692.webp

Can't say for sure buddy but I just bought a silver test kit off amazon for 5 bucks including shipping. It comes with a stone to scratch the object you are testing. That cheap one that i got will only test silver though. There are other solutions for the different karats of gold.

It looks like it may be signed I played with your photos a little, and it looks like it may have a singnature on the bottom, the most common place would be up by the ring part that connects to the necklace, you need a magnifying glass or loupe sometimes to see the marks, but it is worth taking a look. Nice Find! Here is an idea if you want to know for sure if it is silver take it to a jeweler or pawn shop and say you want to cash in your "Silver" pendant, believe me you, they will test it and let you know!!!! LOL

Also I have been told that gold and silver are colder than other metals. Supposedly It doesn't warm up as quick as brass or other non precious metals. (that is what I am told, but I have never been able to tell the difference myself), but you can try to compareit to something else if you have some other piece of jewelry. I know this isn't conclusive, but maybe it will help.

Now this idea is way out there and I know it sounds REALLY crazy but I know it works and it is a trick I use when I go to rummage sales. If you have access to women's make up specifically the powder they put on their face after they put all the other crap on. It comes in compacts and or bigger containers. Rub the powder on your arm or hand then take something that you know for sure is gold or silver and rub it up and down on the powder you applied, if it is gold or silver it will leave a black mark. If it is not it may leave a trace line from where you rubbed but you will see how much darker the precious metal mark is. If the mark was black I would by it and then re-test it when I got home with the acid test. I would say 95% of the time it is right on. The 5% that isn't is usually the plated jewelry. I hope something I said helps a little!

It's very heavy and thick, it weighs 22.2 grams, I'm looking at it with a loupe but it's very hard to see, looks like there might be a name there, and also looks like a lot of marks in the metal from it being hammered /carved

I just used the silver acid test I have (it's the liquid kit I bought from Ebay), I haven't tested silver before, it is a dark red liquid, I rubbed some of the material onto a stone and the color remained the same (no change, no reaction that I noticed), so the color on the stone basically stayed the color as it comes out of the bottle, dark red, anyone know what that means for the metal type
