I went out to uncover the plants in my planter box, we were expecting frost last night and this little guy jumped up right at my feet. Scared the crap out of me

He was only two feet away and just stood there staring at me.

I went to the house and got my camera and Mary and shot this video.

He went and lay down in the pines to wait for mama

Yup he is a cute little guy. It does startle you when something like that happens. Another
thing that will about scare the pants of you is to be walking along in the woods and have
a Partridge suddenly fly up from almost from under your foot. :laughing7:

My wife's oldest sister has lived Just East of Roscommon for several years.

I nearly tripped over one (literally) detecting some woods near me a couple years back. It was laying nestle in some leaves and blended right in. Never move. I was actually able to go home, get my two young ones and camera and go back and get some pics. I did post it here a while back, but can't remember exactly when. I was an assistant Animal Control Officer a number of years ago and had a call for an orphan one which I ended up bringing back to my house till the refuge volunteer came to pick it up. I was so caught up in the moment I never thought to take a pic of it sitting in my lap while I sat on my sofa. It was small enough to fit in a cat carrier.
Pretty cool.
