I took a buddy with me after work to my 1800s home permission. We didn't have much time but we both had some great finds. I dug 2 Indian head pennies. "My First ones" 1900 & 1859. a buffallo nickel, a civil war pistol bullet "i think" which i haven't had a chance to measure yet, an old brass doorknob which was original to the house, and what i believe to be part of a trigger mechanism. It is also posted on the what is it forum. My hunting partner found 2 civil war buttons and a really nice silver ring along with some other relics. Sorry for the lack of measurements and lack of good pictures, It was really late when i got home so I haven't had time yet. I will post more later tonight.

Without the benefit of a size gauge, the 2nd and 3rd photos look to be part of a gate latch.
