Once again a killer day T.....................awesome finds. I'm especially liking the red jasper triangle. Is it basally ground? Or are those thinning flutes?..........GTP(Chris)

Those are really great scrapers, that one is especially nice. Some really nice rim shards too. Those are some real goodies, man I these artifacts.:notworthy::hello::hello2:

Exellent finds, Very colorful scrapers.:icon_thumleft:

I'm a little embarrased to tell you that I don't know as I've not spent much time learning about the flaking styles and techniques. That's why I like posting things here. I learn a little from you guys everytime I post something. Here are some moer detailed photos. What do you thinks?

I'm only looking on my phone right now but that is a very nice point. I belive I see fluting flakes as well as grinding on the base...that plus the patina makes it look to me like an early triangle. VERY NICE

It look's like some base thinning flakes were removed, and it look' like it is ground.

Congratulations, Really nicely worked thumb scraper.

it is actually a point rather than a scraper
we have about 20 or so points made from rbsw
never found a knife or scraper.... i am thinking since it doesn't hold an edge very good
it sure looks like it was easy to work with
it is RBSW-rainy butte silicified wood
i don't think the base is ground but it is hard to say since the material is very soft
nice little piece

Dennis, do you ever find any rainy butte in montana
i am thinking maybe?

I didn't think I was seeing things. I know very little about that material but can usually tell a point from a scraper.

Steve; I was refering to the third photo from the top at the begining of the post. Also I am not sure about the Rainy Butte material, but I will look thru my stashes and see if I have anything that resembles this material. Is this Rainy Butte material the same as the red colored point pictured above?
