I'ts an ill wind !

Just got back after what as to be the windiest days detecting ever, with the odd shower of rain and sleet thrown in.Did manage some finds though. Had a Elizabeth 1 penny (1558-1603) pierced and a nice short cross penny (1180-1247). Also had a small bronze miniature pick like object. It may be some type of tool and does look old. Time for some beer now and then maybe clean the short cross penny.

Re: I'ts an ill wind !

Good day.

Should be able to work out the King as the moneyer is Willem of ...... (can you see any letters of the mint?)

Short cross one of my fav

The wind you talk about was blowing down the exposed hill I was on. I was going up & down the slope which meant I was leaning back whilst going down & nearly leaning the same angle as the slope to go up. :D

:coffee2:

No he would have melted it down.

Re: I'ts an ill wind !

seriously, Robin would have melted the coin down? That's amazing unless of course you're pulling my leg.

Re: I'ts an ill wind !

Instead of my yearly trek to California to hunt gold,
I'm thinking your areas over there look awful inviting
for a vacation digging spot!
Fantastic finds.
