It's hammer time!

Well, brightly colored baggy pants and terrible 80's hip-hop aside...

I found this hammer. Just got done cooking it. I've seen charts on axe and hatchet heads, how about hammer heads?

1" tall x 4" long x 1.25" wide:

Just wondering about the age. I'm going to put a handle on it along with the hatchet I found and put it in a display.

To narrow it down id look for when the claw hammer had evolved.I dont imagine it was the first design.

I dont have anything that old in my books. Maybe a farriers hammer.

I dont know. Im just guessing its old because it doesnt match anything in my book and it has a ton of hammers in it.

It resembles a tack hammer depending on the size, and also a ferrier's hammer if larger? But I ain't no hammer expert at all, just seen a few. Monty
