Welcome to TNet! :hello:
Can't help you with the ID but I'm sure someone here eventually will.

Welcome to tnet That is pretty cool I bet you could google badges from there and might find it or wait for someone to help. Thanks for sharing it Ill be watching to see also looks like an old old relic!!!

No judgements can be made until we see pictures of the reverse?

Plus it's exact size?

My gut tells me to be cautious on this one, but in it's favour so far is the incised styling of the name & date, as those are in keeping. (Plus some old looking scars that have healed)

PS. Another useful piece of information is its PROVENANCE?

I clicked on this figuring someone found a silver pot leaf brooch and was being funny. This looks much cooler. Good luck with getting more info!

I'm not expert on this type of thing, but I like to think I have enough experience to spot a fantasy or fake piece.

My last question is; What metal is it? It looks like the patina that aged silver would go! (Good sign)

Everything I'm about to say is speculation & I'm really keen for those with the right books to chime in, but...
Assuming it's silver, it must have belonged to one of the Officers of the Jamaican Militia & not an enlisted man. Which leads me to my speculation; I wonder if it's a one-off commissioned piece paid for by an Officer??

I wait with interest for the right attribution, but you do need to answer the questions, so others can be sure of the ID.

Assuming it's real, I'm pretty sure it's a $1000+ piece.

Wow, I really like that piece. I can see why Cru's valuation is high. Very desirable!
