Over the July 4th weekend I dug one of my best gold rings ever. Today I took it down to professional accredited jeweler and had him give his assessment on the diamond.

This is what he said:

Main stone Clarity is a SI-1, which is very good
Total weight of diamonds in 14K ring is about 1 karat
Center main stone weight is 3/4 karat
Color is I-J on main stone
Diamond cut is oval
Retail Value is about $4,200.00 !

So keep digging those nickel readings. I've discovered the ratio of gold rings versus nickels is about 1 gold ring for every 2,000 nickels. Most gold rings are in the foil/pull-tab range.

How great is that! Makes digging all those pull tabs and nickels suddenly seem worth it.
