Went out today with the kids and did pretty good for 3 hours.

First hit was a James Avery silver charm bracelet. JA is a local jeweler known for his quality. The bracelet retails for about $120 and is probably a few years old.

I also found a 10K gold ring with a diamond, though I don't think that it is real. (But it could be.)

There was also 2 silver pendants, a heart and a rainbow that says "Faithfulness" and a Hello Kitty pin (minus the pin part).

The last and most interesting item is another pendant. It appears to be made of copper with 6 little diamond-like jewels in a circle. It is either old or handmade by someone as the side still has the casting lines from the mold. I've included some extra photos to see if anyone have any info on it?

And that was the most quarters that I've taken home in one outing.

Thanks for looking.

I went by a jewelry store close by and they tested it for me.

Not a real diamond. Still gold, but no rock.

Next time.

Hi Tresher!
Great finds in the chips, congrats on all the goodies.
Love the sterling charm bracelet and charms and of course the gold ring.

The little round "pendant" thingie and a couple other of your finds are, I believe, actually shoe fobs. These are really popular with the little girls now. I have found hundreds of them this summer. I discovered what they were when I shared my detector with a group of kids at summer day care one day this summer. Their supervisor was interested in my detector and what I was dooing so I introduced the little ones to our hobby. They were around 5 year olds and I let them all swing the detector and "find" a coin that I had planted in the chips for them. All the little girls has these gem fobs on their shoes.

Anyway, noce finds again!!

Smiles!

I have found that they have a 2 hour window of entertainment at a playground, unless we haven't been there before and then that adds about 30 minutes. So while they are playing and exploring, I get to do the same :-)
The bonus is that the wife gets a few hours of free time too. So we all win. What a great hobby.
