Job Site Finds 1 - 14 - 2020

Killer. Can't wait to see it cleaned up. You're finding a good bottle in every category on that spot!

We were told that this bottle is rare only a half dozen in collections ? and the low end $1000 ?

I'm not 100% sure. I know that there are variations with this company, and finding the right one gets confusing. I would say it's high dollar just by looking at it.

Here's the rest of yesterdays treasure hunt I'll let my son clean the dirt off the whiskey it only has a little chip on the bottom edge too old and shaky for that one lol . Over fifty so far maybe a few more today ?

According to John Thomas's book, Whiskey Bottles of the Old West, you're looking at a $9,000.00 bottle at the time of publication which was in 2002. That is for a mint condition example of which there were 12 known examples at that time. Worth more now? Who knows. The only way to find out is to run it through on of the major auction houses, but I'd see who would offer the best consignment percentage first. That is, if you want to get rid of it. Personally, I love it and I'd hang onto what is probably a once in a lifetime find. I would also let Lou Lambert do any further cleaning. He's out your way and he's the best there is. He also knows Western whiskeys and would be a good source of information and advice on your find. Hellacious bottle and best of luck, like you need it, huh?

Oh, and you need to keep your honey hole under the tightest of wraps if you can.

Post this thing under Today's Finds. This should be on top. I'm voting banner.

Thank you for all the information I'm sure this is for sale . The site is secure with security but a couple of bottle hunters have been allowed access and are getting in the way of machinery their pushing a little and may get booted .

Kind of like my dad. He had permission to metal detect an Orchard in Virginia, and he found many nice things. Someone found out where it was, left un-filled holes and trash, and my dad got kicked out. I hate when people do that.

2013 American Bottle Auctions, last one they sold in that color, if it was more yellow closer to $5,000. You found a great bottle...

Yeah, still banner, this whole thing has been banner for a long long time. I was reluctant to vote because I wanted a definitive end to the story and a cleanup and group shot of everything, but, it's undeniable now, it's time. My vote's in.

Say goodbye to your son's friends and coworkers! Haha, just kidding, but really, I can't believe the amount of envious tension that must be in the air, bees get like hornets over this kind of honey, this is a glass massacre. Don't let the greed tear you all apart, stay happy and keep enjoying the thrill of the hunt.

AND KEEP 'EM COMING!

Todays finds 2-12-2020 will post a cleanup .

I collect bottles but my area does not go back as far as what his son is finding. I am glad Southfork who has posted many arrowheads here for years realized that bottle guys would be excited to see these. Hope they sell them and buy something fun.

My son was on the Dozer most of the day so finds were slim but he spotted this one while pushing dirt . As a side note if I wasn't in the middle of a remodel I would be camped on that site .

Another brilliant $200 bottle! This is an amazing site! I need to pack my bags and git on over!

Just a thought I've shown my sons finds from running soil with a classifier bucket to screen out roots rocks and trash . But he's working and I wonder what the two bottle hunters are finding ? while dogging the tractors there on site all day every day . And what the metal detectors are finding !
