I found this John Adam's cufflink a few weeks ago at the BONE 27 hunt in New Hampshire! I didn't know what I had until I cleaned it after being home for a week. I used my Andres pencils on it and little by little the image started coming through and the word ADAMS was becoming visible. A quick Google search for John Adams cufflink gave me a positive ID from another guy on here saying he found one in 2017 or 18. I couldn't believe I had found a cool piece of history!!

Welcome to tnet also........Tommy

I wish I could go back Tommy, but I live in Illinois and the site is in New Hampshire.

As a descendant of John Adams and John Q. Adams, I must say that I am a tad bit envious of that fantastic find! Congratulations!

Thank you all! Very cool to have Creskol, a decedent of John Adams and John Q. Adams, comment on my find!!

Very Nice find! Congrats! Also a very rare find!

We are related somewhere back a ways Creskol. Sarah Adams(1737-1776) is my 4th great grandmother. I'd have to wake up my high school daughter to help me explain the rest. She has it all laid out on her Ancestry account.

Great find! Thank you for sharing with us. Cool to have some descendants on here also!

Does anyone have a suggestion for where to get it authenticated, appraised, graded and/or encapsulated?

Nice find! It's authentic alright. Too bad it isn't in better condition. Heritage Auctions has sold that cufflink for several thousand dollars, but in that condition and with the crack, I don't know whether they would list it.

Thanks for the info Steve. I'm not wanting to list it to sell, just protected. For insurance purposes.

Heritage gave me an auction estimate of $4000 to $7000 on my G. Washington portrait cufflink. You can try and request an estimate.

John Adams Cuff in good shape is worth $8000... As you know condition plays a big part in that .....Heritage told me $1500 to $2500 on mine. They were flat out wrong.. Of course it was just a estimate.

Welcome aboard Mike and Congrats for that great piece of history!

Thanks for all the info and input and for all the compliments and welcoming me to treasure net!! If I find out any more about the button, I'll update it. Here's to hoping for another incredible find to post here!
