Got out to a small local lake beach today with the 17" coil on the CTX. I've hit this beach a million times but never with the 17". Went for the deep targets and this one sure was deep - not perfectly sure but could have been upwards of 15" and started with the ever so slightest chirp. Anyhow, it's a saddle and it's sterling. Any idea what it could have gone to? At first I thought it was a pendant, but looking more I don't see where a loop was affixed (the top left part I thought was broken, but it looks like it may be as intended). Looks like maybe it was glued/flxed to something flat.

The second thing is it looks like "Johnnie Walkers". Every search on Google comes up with the Johnnie Walker (no "s") liquor. Is there in fact a Johnnie Walkers something or other?

Thanks for any input! Also got a sterling rope chain (not pictured) and a few deep wheat cents.

Neat piece. Surely with the name and city someone will be able to figure it out. Post it on "What is it" forum and let the experts have a shot at it. Gary

My thinking is depending on the size, that it's likely a brooch.
Possibly sold or won at a local rodeo or state fair.

Nice find,
Dave

Thanks for the input. I will post on the What's It forum. It's a decent size. Here is a new pic with it next to two US quarters.

Nice find :) In the 1920s there was a show and saddle horse named Johnny Walker Not same spelling. My guess is it is off a whiskey glass from the Johnnie Walker Distillery Still a nice find and would make a great bolo :)

Looking at pictures of the mascot for the whiskey company - he looks like an equestrian. So maybe there is a link. Considering sending pics to the company PR department - maybe they can look in their archives and find a match.

DCMatt is right... and this has nothing to do with whisky.

'Johnnie Walker's' seems to have been a brand or outlet specialising in 'Country & Western' gear in Boston in the 1950s. Here's one of their adverts for a belt with a fancy buckle in which they claim to be: "The Leader in Square Dance Togs".

Nice ID  Just curious, How long did it take for you to come up with the answer?

As soon as CRUSADER pointed out the solder scar, I knew immediately. It took a couple minutes to find a decent pic to post...

That's what I love about this forum. Many of the ID's are team effort. Somebody posts a clue or observation to make someone else look at the item a little differently and whoomp! There it is...
