Nate, the large cent was so crusty and corroded you could not see anything on it. Peroxide heated and a tooth pick (6 times) did the trick. It has a ding or two, that may be the oddities you see,

Ed D,

Congrats! Nana :)

The back of the fob is blank, no marks or lettering. Crusader, It is not a 1937. You probably cannot see it but the writing is Queen on the left Victoria on the right. Also it is a small date. So small I cannot read it but it was there. The base of the horse and rider pattern on the back had a different curl for the head of the dragon? at the bottom. I look for hours over a couple of days. These photos of ones for sale were the most telling to me.

I added the back view, shows larger wing on the dragon, should be 1830 not 1837?
What do you think?

Ed D.

I've never seen a 1830 one before, as it makes little sence being in the reign of William IV :icon_scratch: Must have been an error ???

However, yours is the 1837 type. I can see the 7.

There are at least 12 different variants of this token, & most of them you will not find on-line.

I've found about six different types which were not on-line.

Re: July's Finds. It was a good month.

I can't find your type in my book.

There are 3 different types with 'Victoria Regina'
2 with 'Victoria Queen of Great Britain'
1 with 'H.M.G.M. Queen Victoria'
You have pictured a further type, so we are on 7 different variants already, they also do them in many different sizes.

Mostly thought to be produced in Birmingham UK in 1837/38 or by the German Laucer firm between 1835-73.

The image shows the Duke of Cumberland who was despatched by Victoria to Rule over German Territories because Salic Law required a Male succession.
