Just a few Civil War relics

My good finds from yesterday. A complete Spencer Carbine round and the "Bat Wing" off of a Carbine sash. Thanks to a buddy of mine for the ID on the "Bat Wing". It would have taken me a while to figure it out.

Please explain the bat-wing reference. I've always challenged that ID as incorrect, they come off horses, plus the original book ID placed them in the Rev War, not CW.

I really don't believe that it has anything to do with the period that it is from, but rather the shape of the object. If you notice the last picture on my post it shows that it came off of a carbine sash.

Sorry, mis-understood, I saw your picture to the right & thought you had a batwing buckle as well (not pictured). As you are talking about the belt tip or strap-end it makes much more sense.
