All Treasure Hunting
wed, after dentist appt, scrubbed over the area i found the walking liberty half dollar 2 weeks ago (last week no detecting). No more silver but six wheaties. Again, had to leave pretty quickly to get home for school letting out. Saturday, did a brief hunt. the spot i wanted to check first was full of people having a meeting, veteran's day, so i skipped it. i hit some bus stops and the "south african village" in Coral Gables - a few homes built in the 20's in a style that i guess was africaner, sort of a tropical dutch blend. I just went over the swale and found one wheatie. Sunday, today, tried one new site that was just about 20 yards square. Also scrubbed over a nearby strip i had worked before. Got 7 more wheats from these two spots, no silver.

So, 14 wheaties and some clads was my week's score. I've run out of premium spots in the SW section of miami. There are some possibilities further north. In terms of size however, all of them are quite a bit smaller than the sites i've searched in the SW section.

What formula? lol. just kidding. i've picked the low-hanging fruit. The sites around here with the ideal set of characteristics have all been searched now (by me). I don't think there are too many sites like these in the whole country...anyway, i'm scouting more sites, I went up to north miami for the search i was talking about above...the sites I checked up there just don't get, have never gotten, heavy traffic like my best sites in sw miami got...

got in a coupla hours today...found a merc...tiny site, nice dirt, about 30x10' here in the sw section...under the roots of a mahogany tree...pretty lucky i think, not a high traffic site, either...

Sounds like some fun hunts!

Nice metaphor with the low-hanging fruit--well done!

All the best,

Lanny
