just found 1836 quarter

[Capt.E]

I just found an 1836 liberty cap or capped bust 25 cent with some gold links on it in a newer park here in redding ca. woohoo this is the oldest silver coin i have ever found.

You are pretty lucky to fine a coin that old in California. Nice find.

Put the chain back on!!! Rare to find, even rarer to find with the attaching chain. (The chain looks like it's been attached to that coin a good long time) Besides, I think it adds character.

Great discovery, Terry! Looks to me that it was someone's precious good luck piece!

Great find, it was probally already hold back then they only put the holes in it to keep it safe not for looks so somebody just used the existing hole.
