Burial cave near Globe, Arizona.

A cautionary tale here! A friend and another man found this remote cave on the east side of Roosevelt Lake, near Globe, Arizona. The other man removed a basket with a mummified baby in it, woven fiber sandals, pottery, etc. Eventually he was caught and received heavy fines and some prison time! Our friend had to testify against him. A sad situation. Moral: Don't disturb any graves or artifacts you may find! There is also a Federal Antiquities Law that may be enforced for removing objects over 50 years old. This sign, found at the site of Signal, Arizona, is typical.

There are several books & publications of Cherokee signs and symbols.
One of the 2 photographs I had has never been published. That is why I was asking what it meant.
I won't mention any names, but I fished for several years with one of Chief Thomas' ancestors, and we talked quiet a bit about the Cherokee.
Thomas was the only white chief.

Thomas was the only white chief.

In Texas, last Cherokee battle fought, chief was part Cherokee and white (Scottish).

Rock with cross, and nearby is a very large heart with green rock behind it.
My son lives in AZ and just sent me the pics. They came from the "backside" of the mountains near the town of Globe.
Looks like a GREAT FIND!!
I wish I could send those pics and some more from my phone, haven't
learned the new tricks for an old horse.
I can send from my phone, 'bout it

Yes, the original pics mentioned.

Chief Bowl (also known as Duwali, Diwal'li, Chief Bowles, Colonel Bowles, Bold Hunter, and the Bowl), the principal chief of the Cherokees in Texas, was born in North Carolina around 1756. He was the son of a Scottish father and a full-blooded Cherokee mother. Duwali was leader of a village at Little Hiwassee (in western North Carolina).

Found genealogy for chief I'd mentioned.

Would be nice to see a picture that wasn't so blurry, but it is what it is I guess.

File size almost to large. Try lighter some and smaller.

The cent appears to be a rare one, key word “appears”. Depending on where it came from, maybe it’s authentic. It could be many things. What does it provide as a TID across a more well known metal detector? It’s not magnetic, you would’ve checked. But if you still have it, that in itself is strange because of the immense potential value. Neat to see the possibility, no matter the back story or origin.
