Hello everyone my name is Stan and beginning an adventure in MDing at the age of 71.
I recently decided to purchase a metal detector. After doing a bit of research I have discovered I could face a difficult time finding places to search. But I am willing to give it an opportunity to develop. I have been lucky enough to find someone who has been a source of information and has been detecting for a while. He himself is eager to get out there now. Weather has been a big deterrent (snow). Spring is coming and things are looking up. I have also made contact with a couple friends who own farms that have given me verbal permission to wonder around their property. One of those farms in near Gettysburg but closer to Littlestown, PA. The other is on Maryland's Eastern Shore near Federalsburg, MD. Both areas have some military history which I hope will provide some rewards. What a great experience it would be to find some old military relics.
I have been spending lots of time reading and seeing what people are finding here on the site. I hope that some day I can post something here about a discovery I made.
