Hi gang hope all is fine with ya. I just got a Original John Dillinger Burial permit from when he passed away in 1934, in Chicago. It’s a interesting amazing piece. It is starting to deteriorate and has chipping. I’m probably going to sell as am helping a family member move across country. What’s your thoughts on this? Is this type of stuff rare? But thank you for your input. 0B40365F-18B2-4882-974A-F55DF1AF4745.webp

Back in the 70s and 80s there was a Dillinger museum in Nashville Indiana, I recall walking by it many times. I think it closed sometime in the 90s, cant recall exactly when now.

An original may be worth something to a collector or a museum, or a family genealogist.

Very interesting piece of history! :icon_thumleft:

There are collectors for everything , since it is related to the Chicago area - I would start by locating people in that area who deal in paper ephemera - maps , signatures , photographs , etc. You will learn a lot on your quest . In the right auction that could fetch a few $$$.

Rare? Well, it is one of a kind, and of a notorious criminal - movies are made of that man.

I am certain it is worth big bucks in some circles.

It bears further research! Be very careful of who you deal with.

It lists his age as 32 but I think he was 31. Everything else seems to jibe, day of death, transport to Indiana, etc...

Are you sure this is the original document? I found a print.

I just looked at the link again. I see that you're probably the - c*******h - who bought the item in the link I posted.

It says it's a "print". I'm not sure what that might mean.

I like the way you say he "passed away". Sounds peaceful. Actually, he was gunned down on a city street by Melvin Purvis of the newly formed FBI. Gary
