Just heartbroken - Bad detector investment

So, I called this am. No problems, return (they'll send a recall tag from FedEx) So, I have to go to the library to print it out (kinda a pain in the arse) pack it up and send it back. I hope it comes back a better machine (all I can do)

I already feel exhausted from the whole dealio, but I'm glad they'll take it back to check it out.
Meanwhile, my window of opportunity will close for searching in the woods for my keys (when it starts to grow in)

I'll be sending my Ace 150 to Garrett to have them repair it, because IMHO it's a FAR better machine.
Some day I hope to have enough to really upgrade!

At the risk of sounding negative, I wish I'd never bought this Bounty Hunter tracker IV (it feels like a toy compared to the Ace 150).
In retrospect the Garrett Ace 150 was a far better inexpensive machine (Lighter too)
Way more functions, and I found loads of good stuff, while it worked.
I'll start saving for another Garrett (maybe the 250) or which ever good deal can be had.
Over all, I'd say between the two of them Garrett wins.

Called Garrett! Wow, what a nice lady I spoke with. I'm sending my Ace back to them for repair. She said, they'll repair and send it back.
If for whatever reason they can't repair it, I can get a new one using the broke one as a trade in (got a good price in that event).
I dunno, but I really like the integrity of Garrett!
I'll keep you all posted as for the results or both!
I know we're only talking low budget machines, but for some this matters. I WISH I was monetarily ok enough to buy better, but we do what we can!

I'm really glad you got a positive response instead of the door slammed in your face. Best case scenario if they fix it or replace it with a new one maybe you can list tne Bounty Hunter on ebay and start saving for an upgrade.

Not sure where exactly in Wisconsin you are but if you are within 3 hours of me I could take a ferry over the lake ( in Michigan ) and come find your keys, unless of course they send your fixed one before the foliage sets in.

hey im sorry to hear your having issues, i have a bounty hunter quick silver that i really enjoyed and just upgraded out of if you are looking for a replacement, send me a pm and we can talk

My tracker can find quarters at 7" below ground and 6" on dimes, its a defective unit.

Definitely defective! ! Even though the BH's are not the deepest machines, it will work adequately when repaired.
