Just what does the LDM cave/mine entrance look like?

No cowboy will find the mine. Ha! One did and several cleaned it out. Old news.

With all due respect Frank - you've never proven out that what you found (photo insert), is actually the LDM gold. Did you ever get your sample tested to see if it matches the matchbox matrix that's in the museum? This would probably assist in your claims.

Hello:

First I would like to say that this forum is it's own amazing treasure trove in information about LDM...from all aspects and contributors...both good, bad and ugly. I have learned a great deal from everyone...it does lead me to questions...and from time to time...I get stumped...like with this:

What does the LDM look like?

To me...the only info I have been able to discern is that the cave/mine entrance to the LDM opens to the west...at an unknown angle......and when open....it looks like a bell....with the general dimensions of 4' wide x 12' deep x (who knows how long?)...Then this opening was widened out by 2.5 feet...so the new dims are 6.5 feet wide x 12' deep x (again by who knows long)......Am I correct in this assessment?

THEN...there's the information about the "hiding" of the entrance.....where now we have a descending shaft of approximately 12 feet....and that at about the 6' level from the bottom it was widened out by 2.5 feet to the top where layers of cut timber were placed approximately 4 feet deep where this was covered with approximately 2 feet of soil......(This comes from the Holmes account in multiple books)

In the Reed Letters......he states that they dug to 5 feet when they hit timber....and then beyond that....the shaft.....given Reed's admitted falsehoods in others letters...I'm a bit suspect....

Is this a correct assessment?
What am I missing?

Thank you.

This sounds very interesting.

Nice old time Mammoth mine specimen. The same as Senner's hidden gold.
This goes to show you know nothing about the true LDM story . The true story is way more interesting than the "clues".
All they do is throw you off. Does not matter it was cleaned out and all is left is the cover story . That and gold I find near by. My best friend Tom K told me the true story before he died.

I don't need to prove anything. I don't lie. I've taken friends to get their own gold. It's all in the same area. There are other things in that area of more interest to me. It's better for me if everyone is searching elsewhere. I'm fortunate I have friends on the inside point the way. I have parts of their collections that interested me. All of you post photos of gold you found in the Superstitions. The gold from that area is all the same. The owner of the Match box has passed on and so has the Match box. So there is nothing to compare other gold to. I don't believe the Match box was made with LDM gold. There was boxes being made by a company back then and I think it is one of those. The #1thing is don't get side tracked with bull from the past. Including clues. There is a reason Waltz had a dry washer made. I followed his trail. I know.

You never answered my question, Frank. Did you ever get your sample's matrix tested?

That said - I know you don't lie - that wasn't my intention to label you a liar. I just asked a simple question so forgive me if I've over reached with my inquiry.
I've not heard about the owner of the matchbox 'passing on', and I'm taking it that means he has passed away?
Does any example currently exist that supposedly belonged to the cache that was under Waltz' bed?

Frank, there is not hard to see how the matrix of the ore you posted, doesn't match the size of the nuggets you have. First time I see small particles of gold increasing their size while rolling down the stream.
I have not mentioned about any cover story and I don't know something about it. I just recognized the Mammoth ore which is similar to the Senner's ore. If you want to connect that ore to the Silver Chief mine, it's ok.

Keep in mind all prospectors keep samples of their finds. Waltz mined a lot of areas there is nothing saying all the gold from under the bed came from the ldm. I don't think there was any reason to compare my gold. I'm not a dutch hunter. That gold is gone. All I know is the gold my team found was from the same area. All gold from the area is the same.

This report would make your sample around 19-karat (19K) in purity. That's pretty high quality gold! Wow!

Markmar post photos of the gold YOU found in the Superstitions. Have you ever been there? Or you talking about stuff from Google earth. You have posted. Others have followed your clues and have gotten into big trouble following your distorted GE photos. Oh I'm holding that piece in my hand. As I said all the gold I handled from the superstitions looks exactly the same uncleaned. I've seen and handled other stuff. I was the treasurer of the GPAA and bought gold from all over AZ for our raffles. I know AZ gold.

There have been several recent posts talking about their "dig" or gold they've taken from the superstitions. Since this is illegal I'm just wondering why someone would post these comments and risk facing federal charges.

Frank, you didn't explain how the particles of gold from Tom's ore, increased their size rolling down the stream. And something else, the report you posted, doesn't mention the region of where the sample was took from. Show us a report which mentions the Superstition Mountains region.

Markmar the large sample did not roll down a hill it was dig from the mine. This my last reply to you for obvious reasons. Sorry it does not match your opinions. I gave up trying to understand. After your past insults I'm sorry your not still banned. I had reported your post mocking me for being a disabled Vietnam veteran

I didn't know asking for evidence is an insult. I know the ore that you hold in your hand came from a mine. But showing your pan full of nuggets, you mentioned how you panned it from below the mine, as I have understood. So, you stated the gold nuggets came from the mine from where the large sample you hold was dug. As you and everybody can see, the gold in the big sample doesn't match the size of the gold nuggets you posted. The gold in the big sample is smaller than the size of the nuggets. Go figure.

Ohoh. I don't remember mocking you because you are a Vietnam Veteran. You say this because the moderator erased my post. After you compared me with a shit fly and whatever I was writing you have quoted my posts writing only " Bzzzzz,", and after you wrote as joke a very racist post about a Greek immigrant that was sniffing his own shit to get well of a specific ilness, I answered to you then how I don't comment your post because I don't use to get into a fight with someone who has 100% dissability because of the Orange agent. That was respect not mocking, but thats on everyone's perception.
