Just wonderin', anybody encountered something like this?

I found this on my property in Licking County Ohio (about an hour away from Flint Ridge, Ohio). Over my years here I have uncovered many small arrowheads (some intact... some not), but nothing this large until now. It is large & weighs about 5 lbs. Any guidance will be much appreciated. Thanks.

I agree that it may be stock for making other flint tools...:cofee2:

However, I think it may bee too large to be a tool or implement by itself...

it's a matter of opinion only...

Holy smoke. Post that in the American Indian Artifact section. Maybe it was intended for the Wooly or Colombian Mammoth, :icon_scratch: but never completed.

Thanks, it is funny you say that. There was a mammoth skeleton found a few towns over. The skeletal remains were almost intact, but that was found quite awhile ago. I will see if I can figure out how to repost to the American Indian Artifact section.

natives used to do trading and good quality flint would be traded and sometimes it would be in chunks weighing from 4 to 20 pounds and I have seen picures of wagons full being hauled after the white man came along. real nice find and it would make a lot of arrow heads in the right hands.
