Re: JW's Plugger (Tested Today)

King, just wondered if you had a chance to use it in a little dryer dirt. Looks like it works well in wet soil, but wonder about the harder ground? Let us know.

Re: JW's Plugger (Tested Today)

Looks great to me, but I would like to see a couple of photos in dry dirt as well. :)

Re: JW's Plugger (Tested Today)

Interesting Tool...How would it do with Clay?

Re: JW's Plugger (Tested Today)

Very cool test, it might end up being and important tool. What i suggest is making it the length of a long handle sand scoop, so people wont have to bend down so much. Also, a depth gauge might help increase accuracy. Well, those are my two cents, you'll be getting a bill in the next two to tree weeks :)

Re: JW's Plugger (Tested Today)

Looks very useful for some areas. Might not be as good in this Texas clay. Definitely looks better than my holes after I fill them back up. Good writeup

Re: JW's Plugger (Tested Today)

Pretty cool. I've seen these for sale but never have seen them used / tested. How awkward are they to lug around?

Re: JW's Plugger (Tested Today)

looks like it could definitely be a handy tool.....I am still chuckling about the worm though! lol I too, would be interested to see how well it works in dry soil since I live in the high desert...the only time I would find soil like you show is in my yard within a half hour of watering! lol Let us know when you do more testing! Thanks for a great post!

Re: JW's Plugger (Tested Today)

Curious to see if the grass turns brown due to no root flap.

I think I'll stick to the old way.

Re: JW's Plugger (Tested Today)

Leave the plug out, put a flag in it and open a golf corse! more coin!!!

I agree with depth gauge, I already been thinking of grinding some lines on one side every inch or two.

I don't think moist or wet clay to be a problem but very dry it might be like cutting into Concrete, Tool is designed more for the Parks and grassy areas.

I will be going back to this park next-week to check on grass conditions @ Plug

Re: JW's Plugger (Tested Today)

nice. I want one of those tools

Re: JW's Plugger (Tested Today)

Yea I think a sleeker longer/taller design would be cool.

Good demo, thanks !

Keep @ it and HH!!

Re: JW's Plugger (Tested Today)

would be really nice if you could get at the bottom of the hole every time and put the plug right back in ;D

Re: JW's Plugger (Tested Today)

How many times did you NOT find coin in plug, but somewhere around the hole?
