Went back to my old standby spot today. No matter how many times I go there, I still make some interesting finds. My best finds today were the complete and intact Burnside Carbine bullet and a nice eagle I cuff button. I’ve literally found hundreds of Burnside bullets in this camp, but this is the first whole Burnside I’ve ever found there. The I cuff button was also a nice find, but this camp is pure cavalry so why was the infantry button there? I’m not complaining, glad I found it. [emoji6][emoji16]

Great finds all around at the Cavalry Camp. I have never found an intact Burnside bullet. The Eagle I button is very nice too. Maybe the reason the Infantry button was found in the Cavalry Camp, is maybe the soldier transferred from the Infantry to the Cavalry. I have seen some Navy buttons found very far from the coast. Makes one wonder. The possibilities are endless. That's what makes our hobby so much fun, trying to imagine and put pieces of a puzzle back together again that has been apart for 157 years. All great finds and saves....grommets, percussion caps, and all.:icon_thumright:

Thanks Devidog!

Thank you, I’ve been relic hunting for 40 years and this is the first intact one I’ve ever found.

Nice finds. The statement above says a lot. Bi congratulations! I’m glad you found it!
