I found what I was told is a concho, like from a saddle, on an old ranch here a long time ago, and my mother actually found that key near an old house that goes back to the 1910s or or earlier. Is that a concho? And does anyone know more about keys like this? My mom called it a skeleton key, but shes not an expert on the subject or anything. I was wondering how old keeys like this could be. Like when they were invented. It appears to have some age on it, but I dont think its that old or anything, so it would be nice to learn more. The key is flat, by the way. And there is writing on it, but I cant make anything out.

Yes on the concho.

Not a skeleton key. I believe it's for a bank safe deposit box. I have one very similar to it, and that's what I was told.

Google: safety deposit box key, and you will see a few matches to your key.

Probably early 1900s, is my best guess on age.

Well done again OP!
