Key Date 1724 Wood's Hibernia Half-Penny and Old Buttons! +2nd Hunt Update

Got permission to detect an old farm field that had some history to it. The house on the property dates to around 1808 and the owner informed me that there was a house that was in the field but it burned down in the early 1800's. So, in actuality, the house could have been there since the late 1700s. Second trip there and a loud solid hit on my explorer came through and my dad and I knew for sure it had to be a coin. 3 inches down pops out a large copper disc and we knew it had to be old. We took it home and after looking at quite a few pictures I realized it was a hibernia half penny and then spotted "1-7-2" on the edge. After close examining, I could see the cross of the 4 and found out these were much rarer than the 1722's and 3's. This is my oldest coin to date! I also found this other loop-like copper piece that I have no idea what it is? Also, these buttons I have never seen before either? I saw some similiar on this forum and members have said they could be late 1700's if not earlier types of buttons. I know they are not like the typical 1800's flat buttons that I usually find in fields. Any help on these would be great! Can't wait to go back!

Went back today, only coins were 45 and 46 wheat pennies. Although picked up a few more buttons and what seems to be a silver thimble. Still not giving up though! HH :icon_thumright:
Man silver thimbles your killing me all I find are copper ones. 25 years of detecting I've found one silver and the homeowner kept it. :BangHead: HH

Unfortunately none that I could see. I am just making an educated guess based on the condition (shine) of the thimble that it is indeed silver. I also compared it to my first one that had the sterling mark on the inside and they both are identical in condition.
