KG II......Its Been a While Folks!!

Hey,It's been a while since I posted anything. With open heart surgery and multi surgery's on my leg which tends to slow you down pretty damn hard I finally got a good find worthy of posting. Swinging in the backyard near the old smokehouse I get a deep choppy tone bouncing everywhere. About 8" deep I see this pretty green disk at the bottom of the hole,just about $h!& myself!!! The house was built around 1840 w/165 ac. so I didn't expect to find anything this early. From what I can see it's a 1729 KG II,let me know if you can read something else. Thanks for looking

Sorry to hear about all the surgeries my friend. Hope that's all behind you. Now I recall you have found a lot of coins and relics that are much older than your house. Must have been an earlier place there. Congrats on the KG and on getting back into the "swing" of things.

Thanks Steve! The house you are talking about was in Maryland and still have access to. A little over 2 yrs. ago I moved to Adams Co. PA, just over the border. I always try to rent on older properties and this one fit's the bill. I'm pretty much retired now so if you're ever around my neck of the wood's give me a shout..

That's cool. Honestly I've found more on my own acreage than any where else...lol (probably because I can hunt day or not and can fill my holes the next day if I so choose..lol)

Retirement...that's a nice sounding word I'm not there yet. I don't have any hard data to back this up, but I would bet at least 1 in every 3 mid 19th century farm houses in Pennsylvania have an earlier house site nearby, especially those with a good spring nearby. I'll keep your offer in mind
