This complete buckle that I found is by far my favorite so far. It's an early style. You can date it to 1690-1720 by the chape style (thanks Bill D.). This thing is so solid I think it could be used today. The place I found it is very interesting and may produce more early finds. I also found a KG there. The 1853 Seated Half Dime is my first half dime and the detail is really nice on it. Here's where I need some help guys. I dug this brass or copper shield shaped item with obvious attachment points on the back. It came from beside a colonial cellar hole. There's a design on it but it's hard to make out. I first thought it was an eagle but now I don't believe it is. There's 3 very distinct lines on the bottom then a design above. I believe the shield was a symbol of patriotism but I have no idea what this was and what it attached to. I would really appreciate everybody's input on this one. I also found an 1864 2 center and an IH. There's also a V nickel that's absolutely destroyed and a few mystery items. Thanks for the help guys

Just amazing finds Abe! :occasion14:
The '53 Seated Half Dime and the watcher winder keys are great finds, but when you add in the buckle and the saddle shield... well that makes it a great hunt my friend! :hello2:

Congrats,
Dave

Thanks a lot guys. Bob I promise I'll leave a few keepers but you better hurry my man lol. IT's been a great start to the year with some awesome relics. This buckle is one of my favorite finds so far. I did t realize just how unique the linked watch winders were until now. Appreciate the nice comments guys. Good luck out there

Great finds.

I see the trusty Tek is still sniffin' out the goods.
Congrats.

I cant say that I have seen a pair of watch winder keys linked together. Someone must have had two pocket watches at the same time! He was a bazillionaire! Noone had 2 watches!

Thank you for sharing your story and those pictures with us

KILLER FINDS!!!! Man that's the stuff, great buckle, seated and love that KG! Congratulations

Super awesome finds! Congrats on your first half dime, in really great shape and a complete buckle that must have been new when it was dropped, that is amazing!

You are on one heck of a hot relic streak, dream big! Your standing at the Banner door now scoot on in there!

Perhaps the two watch winders belonged to a watch maker, the stem parts are different lengths.

Get back to that golden spot ASAP!

Abe - can't remember if I asked already, but did you find any kind of maker's mark on that buckle? We could probably confirm or even narrow down the date of manufacture with that info. Hope you can return to that site soon and find its twin sister, or maybe another relative.

That is awesomness!!
