Found this yesterday afternoon…most of the stuff I find is pretty small…this one looks like King Kong next to my other pieces. Once again, I can't settle on the type. It is pretty thin in comparison to my other finds too…Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Doesn't look like a Kirk to me. Is the base ground any? It has a kind of Woodland/Hopewell look to it.

Killer piece, no matter what the type.

I don't think the base is ground…I thought the pics in Overstreet of Hopewell matched well, but didn't think they were down this far south?…thanks for the suggestions.

Anybody got suggestions for type? I thought a Kirk?..but the base seems a tad flared out.

I think so. Just a variation on a type.

Very well could be Hopewell I find their points in my area every once in a while. Im south of you.

Killer one Joe and good action shot! Good save. Fun when you see it like that and know it is a good one. It does look Like a Hopewell type like Grim said but think that you are right about it being a little far south for your area.. You might consider looking at some examples of the Hamilton Stemmed types. It might fit your area better. See what you think? Looking and I might have one that matches it but not near as nice as that.Mine was from Brainerd.Be curious to get an I.D myself.

I looked at the reference you sent me and my guess is it is like most of the others I find…fits several categories…I'm going with Hamilton stemmed as the closest too my friend…either way…I think I will keep it! Thanks to all who gave me some suggestions...
