Kind of a shameful token but also a piece of history

Went out to a farm field today and found this token. I'm assuming the back says. "White Race only " at least that is what it looks like about the size of a half dollar. Can't seem to find any info on it any help would be appreciated thanks

based on style of font and general look of the token, I tend to believe 1920's myself.

The title deeds on any home I've purchased has (had) a clause like that IN CALIFORNIA. I voiced my concerns of this document in perpetuity .....the answer given ? It's a legal document "and no one pays attention to THAT anymore". Can you have it removed ? "Why" was the answer.

But even the Historical Society Couldn't help me with Orwigsburg

These tokens were Used during Segregation Years (Pre 1954.)
There supposedly were Black Race only tokens also

I don't see why the property description on the deed cannot be changed to delete that language. I think people just don't want to be bothered.

Yes in a way. from what I understand they were Left at Different Places probably with a bit of Discrimination involved. (I doubt they left them in Bars, & on window sills , Parks & Sidewalks., Though ya never know. Different Times Different attitudes)
Like at Political Meetings, & Society meetings, & Churches so their neighbors would meet their personal opinions
of proper people. With Money.

nobody gives everything away for free. in the case of the $29.00 fee
on the one above. it was probably only for Part of the deal.
like getting the Lot for Free
or $29.00 Transfer, if you pay their Construction crew $50,000.00 To build
the home on it to their specifications.
& just leaving out the cost of the lot & Tokens, is in the total.

the Time Limit would also allow them to say "Sorry Too late"
if they don't like the Look of your Mug, if they already gave one away,
Or if there never was one & they just wanted people to come for the tease And maybe Buy. like an open house.
