I had done a bit better in the local parks a while back, with a few sparkly bangles,
but it has dropped off quite a bit over the last week, or so.

Much more scrap, and even less clad.
The pirate treasure coins are starting to crop up, here and there...
The two silver ones will only beep my machines when held together, 1/2" from the coil!

I was surprised at the 6.5 x 55 mauser casing, and even more so at the .17 Hornady Magnum Rimfire shell. I'd never seen one of those before...
The .22LR could have been too much fun when I probed for it!

Meager digs, but still nice to spend a few hours at the parks...

I don't hunt tot lots, sometimes after the school season. Don't worry your finds will get better later in the summer.

Keep @ it and HH!!

Modern day clad, indeed. The park I was hunting at a few weeks ago got pretty old with all of the pull tabs and alluminum cans splattered by the lawn mowers over the years. :tongue3:

Cool. Yeah, it's always nice to get out and find stuff. The little .17 round is a new round that is in now a day's. I mean old when considering other rounds. I have one, and its shoots sweet, it's mainly used for small game or target practice, but some use if for varmints like coyotes.

At this link you can see Varmint Al’s .17 bench test, and results. You can also download a vid that shows a 100 yard full coke can shot:

Hey Ant,

I read some of the stuff on Varmint Al's page... Wow!

Tight groups!

...and the match director sure was impressed with them, too...
"No 300 scores until .17 HMR, and using inexpensive rifles"

That says a lot!

...and NO ricochet is a good thing, also...
