Hi All,
I managed to escape for a couple of hours yesterday afternoon, and so glad I did. There's nothing like the feeling of digging up a piece of hammered silver to brighten up a day!
This is on one of my new farms, all short pasture at the moment.
Amongst other things I found this 'Beautiful' King Charles I Shilling. The bust is a little faded but every letter of every word is as clear as daylight.. love it.

I think its a class 3B: Crowned bust with no inner circle, mintmark 'Tun' (which was 1636 to 1638) Reverse: Royal arms in a round shield. Tower Mint. It weighs 6.1 grams, around 30mm in diameter.
Other finds were a silver Victoria Threepence, Coppers, Buckles, Bag seal (another star of David type), Buttons and musket balls.
Lovely, sunny day today, but sadly,, can't get out.
All the best,
David x
