King George II and 1808 Classic Head Large Cent Found Today!

Kyle PA · Oct 18, 2009

KKC got out today to an old stand-by site and we nailed 5 total coppers. I got a King George II halfpenny and 1808 Classic Head large cent. The Classic Head large cent's date is clearly legible (see picture below). The picture of the KG II does not do it justice.

We will be reloading a potential great site for next Sunday, which, of course, is pending permission.

If we get permission for our next site, we should find loads more. :laughing9:

KKC is back on the copper hunt! :icon_thumleft:

Nice coppers Kyle. :icon_thumleft:

Don't see too many classic head L.C.'s popping up. Your group is inching closer to the 100 copper mark.

I was keeping my fingers crossed that your first copper was going to be a KG II. It seemed that you honed right in to that copper like you had on sonar. 10 minutes tops you were swinging before you said copper. I tripped and almost fell when you said it. You sure did fight for that 2nd one. When I looked over at you it seemed that you were wrestling with a field gooney. That rock sure didn't hinder the recovery one bit. You're a fighter for sure.

Iron Patch,

I am a coin hunter. Could you walk into a tavern in 1783 and purchase some grog and ale with a Rev war button? Nope!

I wish I could match the amount of coppers that you pull from the ground. Your collection must be a big one :notworthy:

I am a Coin Hunter

I am a coin hunter
I'm Kirk from Pa
I dig the dirt
And broken buckle parts make my day

Never found a button
And don't really care
with I. Patch and his Minelab
It's really not fair

I am a coin hunter
I'm Kirk from PA
I only find crusty coppers
And it will always be that way

:laughing7:

You forgot to mention the 1786 and 1810 2 Reales and the 1746 1/2 Real from this year.
