I got out to my "once in a blue moon" spot today. It started off slow, with a few buttons and one of those old nickel Rogers spoons...

I went after plenty of deep signals, some non-ferrous targets, but quite a few nails too. The ground was saturated after yesterdays' downpour. Not one of those pegged out, iffy signals was fruitful. :BangHead:

Here are the good finds... 8-)

1806 KG III Bank Token "Ten Pence" Irish (I didn't scratch it...)

1811 KG III Half Penny

1799 KG III Half Penny

This one, I'm not sure of, at all. It is toasted... but, you can make out a couple of letters. The other side is even worse.

Some destroyed buttons...

Happy Hunting!

P.S -- I'm not sure why my pics look weird lately. I'll sort it out for next time...

Thanks IronHorse! It was new to me as well. I had no idea what the heck it was...

Nice coins! I love the silver Irish bank token. Have never seen that one before.

Those are great finds, and kudos to you for digging the iffy signals!

Sweet digs  I was thinking the copper you can't ID might be a NJ copper..... you can make out the letters R and I. I was thinking of the E PLURIBUS UNUM on the reverse above the shield. ... But then I looked at it again and now I'm not so sure. The R I could also be in the word BRITANNIA on a KG coin....judging by the spacing between the R and the I, I think that is a much more likely possibility.

Thanks evolution. It's probably the latter. I'd love to find a NJ copper!

I was editing my post when you replied... I agree that it is more likely the latter...

Several nice finds there Gio, but that Irish bank token is killer piece !:icon_thumleft:

The Irish bank token is really awesome! That would make my month!

That is a cool Silver.
Both times I thought I had a NJ copper it turned out to be a conder token.
None the less a great hunt had by you.

That Silver is an awesome find, congrats keep it up.

Thanks Rick!

If you haven't found a NJ copper, I probably never will. :)

Thanks Rick!

I'd never say never, I never got my US colonial copper yet, but have found many of the unusual US coins, a 2 cent 1864, a three cent silver 1851, a FE cent (toast but IDable, recently), 2 draped bust LC's, 1798, 1802, and I don't even live in the US. So I firmly believe ANYTHING IS possible. BTW I do expect a state copper sooner or later.

Keep on digging.

Nice finds Gio.

Those are great finds! I've not seen that silver token before. Great job on those coins. Did you get any buttons, military or otherwise?

Cheers,

Buck

That silver token is one great looking piece of eye candy, congrats on getting one sweet looking coin.:hello2:

The coppers would of made for a good hunt, but the silver made it a memory.
