kings German legion belt plate/ 1787 new jersey

I found both of these in roughly the same spot but need some help with some more information on them like why was one of the kings german legion in Canada and possibly what they are worth

That plate was used 1803-1816 during the Napoleonic Wars, so it's a Napoleonic period piece.
