Are you going to leave some physical monuments/marks??

We have some secret tree carving symbols to start with...I'll have to take a pic tomorrow!!

Fantastic fun.
You two should have a great time with this.

Thanks for including us in the fun!! I'll be following this one and love the container.

EDIT: Kira is my grand daughters name but she lives in Ga and graduated last year.

Thanks pete....were having a blast with this, and it's a lot of fun for uncle Black Bart too !! We have plans to bury lots of treasure...LOL !! No one else in the family knows our cache locations....this is number three !!! We sneak off in the afternoons some times and bury jars of coins !!

Hey mike.....it was the best three or 4 bucks I ever spent......kept her and my son entertained for half the day, filling the bottle, finding a spot, digging the hole, and then making the maps. At the last minute we snuck out and buried it before even my son could see what we were doing !! No one saw as it should be !! She had the honors of putting it in the hole and burying it.

I'd say use the map she drew...it's as good as some of the other treasure maps we've seen..:laughing7: That's cool!

This reminds me of my mother talking of putting cents and nickels under rocks in Maine with her dad when she was a kid in the late '20's. They called it "buried treasure".
I tried to get her to give up the location but she wouldn't crack. One tough egg she was. Sure wish she had a map with a red :cross: !

(Actually she was so young she couldn't remember where they were around the old homestead, built in 1796. Would love to detect there but my uncle sold it in the 1980's)

My mother's yard is still full of coins.
I've been trying to find them all since I was 9 years old.
I'm going on 50 now.
I was well into my adult life before I found out that Dad seeded the yard from his collection.

Bart.. You touched my heart.
Thank you again for doing this.
They won't forget!

Well if you've never buried a cache.....let me tell ya....its a lot a dang fun. She just showed me her copy of the map.....and well, it's different!! I think shes trying to fool me.20190909_085847.webp
That spanish treasure heart will have people fooled for years !! Probably makes more sense than the Beale cypher!!

She needs a black eye cap and a pirate outfit, maybe a wooden leg also.Your the wood guy, build her a pirate ship in your spare time :)

Ya'll have a ball! That's a cool story and I hope she always remembers...

What fun ! I'll bet your niece had a blast. Will be even more fun to take her back in 10 - 20 years, and dig it back up.

The symbols begin !! Cache #4 is getting ready to go in the ground !!

The symbols begin !! Cache #4 is getting ready to go in the ground !!

You know years from now people will be seriously debating this treasure, which map is the true map, arguing about the correct decoding of symbols...
You guys need to come up with a
good back story :D

Your a great Dad
