Question: Kirk is a type of projectile point, is there such a thing as a Newkirk

No, there is no such thing as a "Newkirk" arrowhead in North American archaeology.

While the Kirk projectile point is a highly recognized, valid typological cluster from the Early to Middle Archaic periods, "Newkirk" is not an officially recognized variant or type.

The "Kirk" point was officially named by pioneering archaeologist Joffre L. Coe in 1964. It was named after the Kirk family, who owned the land at the famous Hardaway Site in Stanly County, North Carolina, where the points were heavily documented

Instead of a "Newkirk," the actual recognized variations within the Kirk Cluster include:
  • Kirk Corner-Notched: Known for a large triangular blade, deep corner notches, and often finely serrated edges.
  • Kirk Stemmed: Features a distinct, broad, straight stem and a medium-to-large triangular body.
  • Kirk Serrated: Primarily differentiated by its deep, pronounced, and highly intentional edge serrations.
Your lack of understanding of the situation only adds to the confusion. There is no Palmer, no Cypress, no Pasco, and no Clovis in Florida. When will you all finally realize this? I have already provided the name Kevin Dowdy, along with his phone number and address. Reach out to him and inquire about the Palmer point, also known as the Newkirk denial, which began before you started searching for artifacts, as I mentioned earlier. When Ben Waller asserted that there was a Clovis in a Mastodon in the Silver River, the state archaeologist dismissed it, stating they would not investigate. Paleo Indians do not exist in Florida, so if you require more details on the new point that Kevin Dowdy has introduced, why not call him instead of being so slow to post?

I seriously believe you have me confused with somebody else.:laughing7:

I just posted that there isn't No, there is no such thing as a "Newkirk" arrowhead in North American archaeology.

Besides that IDGAF what your viewpoints are regarding your interpretation of what a Fullmer is or not.

Read the post instead of making ignorant claim. Have you called Kevin?Have you called Jackie? Have you tried to do your own research or you just going through something that you assume is true in your head

Hey guys as a side note Kevin Dowdy and Jackie Fuller are not archeologists just artifact collectors like the rest of us. They also have websites where they sell artifacts. I think it was back in 2013 Mr Fuller was arrested in that artifact sting that Florida had going on at the time. Charges against him were eventually dropped as they were in almost every arrest. I do not know either of them personally and have no opinion on them. I did know the Late Son Anderson formerly from the Tampa area and retired to Georgia. I never met anyone who knew more about or had a better collection of Florida points than Son. In the 20+ years I was acquainted with him never once did I hear him refer to any point as a "Newkirk."

You are merely a flawed piece of art. There is no authenticity in your repulsiveness. It's all about learning or expanding your perspective, or something along those lines. What you possess is only sarcasm, condescension, and narrow-minded insults that make you feel like you're important. I could easily respond with harsher words to match your tone, but I prefer to stick to the facts and maintain my composure. I would suggest you do the same. When did you last speak with Kevin? And when did you last communicate with Jackie? Regarding the confusion between Palmer and Newkirk, could you please share their responses instead of your sarcastic remarks that lack any relevance to the topic? It seems you are not genuinely interested in a discussion; instead, you focus on insults and belittling others, revealing the extreme lengths some will go to provoke conflict and discontent.
🤣🥱👋

Mature and take the time to clean the area around your own doorstep, including your shoes and the ground beneath your feet, before criticizing the dirt and mess found around others' shoes and doorsteps. This practice will provide you with greater clarity and help you address your personal challenges.
😴😴😴👋👋

The only thing that can suggest is try to take some anger management classes or some advanced communication skills or possibly see a psychiatrist 😠 😡 👿😤 🤬 😾 🗯 💢
Have a very blessed day hoping for your speedy recovery and advancement.🙏 ☺️ 😊 🙌 😇
I saw a psychiatrist once and he told me I was crazy. I asked for a second opinion and he said "okay, you're ugly too!"

Muki, I have already told you not to post someone's personal information, especially if someone is not a member. Do not do so again.

Do not post someone else's personal information on forums.

just to be clear here... real archeologists don't use the specific names for points we use... they use generic terms like "shouldered corner "knochs" etc.

I am uncertain about the reasons behind your agitation or the issues you are facing, but if you lack constructive feedback regarding the article and prefer to engage in name-calling and spreading misinformation, this may not be the right environment for you. If your intention is not to learn and you have no valuable contributions to make, perhaps it would be best for you to adopt a read-only approach. I am quite weary of your sarcastic remarks and your apparent failure to grasp the subject matter, which has led to numerous inaccuracies regarding the current situation.I have already mentioned the prominent individual's name, and if you cannot move past that, I kindly ask you to refrain from engaging with me. Please, take a moment to sit quietly and read to enhance your understanding instead of pretending to possess insight when it is evident that you are confused about basic concepts, such as the difference between a daylight dig and a night dig. It is perplexing to witness individuals who do not comprehend their own statements, resorting to insults without contributing anything relevant to the discussion. Sometimes, it is necessary to recognize when to concede, especially when you are unable to achieve your goals. What exactly are you attempting to demonstrate, aside from exhibiting narcissism and frustration with yourself? It seems you are unaware of your lack of knowledge yet continue to persist. I encourage you to seek out educational resources. I have provided you with the relevant website; please utilize it. I have clearly requested that you keep your distance from me. If you cannot offer any constructive insights, you are merely dragging yourself down, and I refuse to accompany you in that endeavor. You have not made any valid arguments; it is clear that you have lost.
"I have clearly requested that you keep your distance from me." How about you stay off my post and we all will be better off
