"Kirkwood Road" 200 relics found and i,m as dry as a bone [100 degrees]

hi all.Kirkwood road , Eaglehawk was the service road to the gold-feilds between 1854 til 1930's Kirkwood road got its name from a famous gold-mining family and not the rather interesting member know as" KirK" Numerous hotels, store sheds, shops and merchants lined the street, some of these building still stand today.Over 2 days ,with the temperature at about 100 degrees i hit as many sites as possible. Some of the finds where hand -dug ,other where found in old out building and around "bucket privys" kirkwood road was used by the chinese , who had a camp just west of the town on the fork of the creek.some 2 thousand chinese mined and worked here. The was the second largest chinese camp in the area, the other was at White Hills camp 7 mile west.In my search for relics and coins i found some from several countries, British American.Australian and french too. There is numerous pics of old buildings, out sheds, shops and disused blocks where nothing stands anymore and a few deep mine sites and tailing dumps.

Some relics left in the building where protected and grounds vary from bad to good.Only had a few hours to clean a few to share and there just heeps of them.Mit have too add pics when get around to cleaning a few more.

I,m bound by history in this area and theres not much too be found before 1840 here.Where i lose age i gain in varity and some of these item are rare, others more common. Enjoy a large interesting Colonial pic show and HH too all Even kirkie ;D ;D ;D

The temperature is expected to get hotter this week and i will still be going after work. ;D ;D ;D

It's hard to believe no one else has cleaned out that spot??? It's not like it's tucked away down 20 miles of dirt road in the middle of nowhere... :)

No kidding! You must be the only adventuresome soul in your area! :o 8)

Beautiful finds, TP! Love all the pictures! Thanks for taking us along! :)
