✅ SOLVED Knob of some sort?

Found at an old home site. It says "New" on one side and "Worn" on the other. The hole on the back side appears to have a flat side, so, Probably fit on a shaft that turned. I'm trying to think of something that would need a special setting between new and worn! Any ideas?

Oh. I'm plenty old enough The only vacuum I've had with a power brush is a Rainbow unit, and it doesn't have a goofy setup like that.......at least, not that I'm aware of. Never needed to adjust for a worn belt yet.

I cant find a pic but im sure because I replaced many of these belts. Its the metal end cap shown here but its hard to see with lint and thread wrapped on it. Also may be have a bearing and I even searched the model number in the pic but they seemed to have done away with the new/worn feature on later model end caps.
