Labadee Haiti Beach?

Taking a cruise and stopping in labadee.

Anyone know if detecting is permitted there?

Can't find anything online.

The very first thing I would do is see if the Cruise Lines will even allow you to take one. I am sure it would popup on their metal scan - so, save yourself a bunch of problems - check first. IF they allow you to take one - ask them...

You can do pretty much anything you want on the entire island except drink the water. I wouldn't stray far from the resorts beach area, if you think Dominica is bad you ain't seen nuthin yet...

They don't have like somalian gun boats but the fact is... there are pirates in all waters. Your pretty safe as long as you book your excursions with the cruise ship DO NOT TRUST ANY LOCALS. I wouldn't eat any food from the locals either unless have a tough stomach.

I've been to D.R many times traveling from north to south.. its a very hard life on that island with a lot of desperation. If you choose to travel around be prepared to see some stuff you won't ever forget.

On a lighter note I bet that area hasn't been MDed much so you stand a good chance of finding some goodies.

Haven't hunted there but I take my detector with me on carnival cruises..not a problem.

I hunted here and found a nice ring in the water. Hard rock bottom then a drop off. You will need to fan the bottom. Not much beach. Stay with your group.

maybe? but both recent storms have been a wash-out -

more likely he's on the ship eating & drinking 24hrs a day!!

Yep he's probably circling that breakfast buffet like a shark when all the baby seals are born lol. $50 says that metal detector has only seen tonic water so far.. wish I was there. . Lol
