Hit the colonial parking lot again and had some success. Found a key date SLQ, a 1917-s type 1 with exposed breast. Also scored a sweet early button that may be my first colonial button at this spot. Last up was a 1911-D barber dime. I doubt that I do but a pair of headlights sure does. I know I'm skirting the line here so my apologies, moderators.

Great Find Steve, I love that coin more then seated!!

Sweet SLQ.
The pre -1925 SLQ date would wear prematurely. The date was recessed into the pedestal. That action appeared to have corrected excessive wear.

Thx ATW. I wasn't looking at the date on that coin, but I digress. I have a lot of SLQ's with worn dates and all without a doubt pre-'25's. Thanks for the info,

Steve

People are quitting.....lol great job once again man!!!

SLQ's are beautiful. I've been fortunate enough to find a few real nice ones. Unfortunately I've never dug a seated quarter...so I prefer that over just about anything. Found seated half-dimes, dimes, and half dollars, but never a Quarter. Know where to find one?!?! Lol.

Yep, coin store!!!! Lol

Hey hey hey! Statistics show that there is no correlation between my finds and memberships on this site. Besides, I'm not even in the same league to join the NEPA club. I'm super jealous of your club;)

Thx bud.

Yep, coin store!!!! Lol

I hear there are some real nice coin stores. There are some that even sell silver from Ponce de Leon's ship.

Talk about being on a roll!!!!!! Keep those beauties coming!:occasion14:

Sweet SLQ, the barber's nice too.

Thanks for the close up, I've been wondering for awhile where they put the date on them. Lol

Seeing the beaded rim around the obverse on this series is nice ( seeing the wardrobe malfunction is NICE !)

The button looks late 18th C, but maybe very early 19th C as well.

That's great to hear. Unfortunately it's not definitively colonial so the search continues. Thanks for the info Cru

Congrats on the great finds!! I collect SLQ's so I always look forward to seeing them posted- yours is in great shape and worth a nice amount in that grade- very sweet. Hope you find the 1916 next!

Hang in there Steve. I had the same problem with the Barber Quarter. Dug all kinds of Barber Dimes & other very old coins. Even have 3 Morgans. Do you think I could dig a Barber Quarter ? Finally about 3 yrs. ago it happened. I dug one on an outing & haven't found one since. That was my elusive coin. You will find your Seated Quarter, & I'll bet you find it where someone else lost it !!

Congrats Scrappy! That is a sweet SLQ.

You had a very good weekend, to say the least.

Hi Scrappy; The SLQ is in FINE Condition ok. Nice. The button is Colonial. Dates to 1750. I know because I did research on them a while back. The design is called HONEY COMB or BEEHIVE for the same style ok. Yours looks to be about 1770 due to it's wear. It was worn for a long time before it was lost. That is why the Pattern Lines are so thin. They are usually thicker ok. No value due to condition but still a nice find ok. PEACE:RONB
