Lake Michigan Teardown Finds

[Gypsy Heart]

Stopped at a teardown along Lake Michigan yesterday ....construction guys told me to "have at it " then laughed because it was pretty trashy.....they had just taken down the walls and front porch....so I was able to find a couple of things...in about twenty minutes.
I dont know what the round thing is. But...the little tab on it is silver (which is weird) and says E 9 1/2 and the backside is "New Departure" I think. I found the key /coin holder about five feet from one of the construction workers...hahaha... still full of coins all in the 70's...I like the little carpet sweeper advertisement promo " IT BEATS AS IT SWEEPS AS IT CLEANS.....SUPER"...the compact says "Lournay" and the bottle says "Hind's Honey and Almond Cream A.S. Hinds Co Bloomfield NJ

Was the silver bell tab tarnished? If not it may be nickel plated. That was used in lew of chrome on autos and other stuff way back when.Congrats on answering the door when opportunity knocked.

Neat stuff! New Departure Hyatt still makes bearings.

My bicycle didn't have silver either, but I wasn't born with a silver spoon in my mouth. Really nice finds, I like that sweeper thing. Way to go!

cool find now you can laugh at the construction guy lol

[Michiganne]

Nice finds, Gypsy! Love the little bottle. Can we see a pic of it all cleaned up? WTG!

Wow Gypsy, I really like the bottle. I'd go back and ask where they are taking all the dirt too. Might find some interesting items there.

Again, nice finds, even the bike ringer.

It sure is handy to always have the detector with for just such an occasion! I nearly always have mine stuffed somewhere in the pickup. Good job!

Those are some Gypsyrific finds...like that min carpet cleaner. Hey, I found the same
bottle about 10 yrs ago. I just "googled" Hinds...very popular cream in it's day, I see the company sponsored some Burns & Allen radio shows.

Congratulations on your finds Gypsy.

So seeing as how they are going to tear down Lake Michigan you think they could ship the Lake down here? Need a decent place to fish here

Sorry couldn't resist, best chance I have had all year to make a terrible joke LOL.

Love the money box thingy Gypsy, you dont see these anymore.... That is definately a cycle bell, but the silver part not sure as all the ones I have had and seen were made of steel.
Great finds, keep up the good work.

God bless

Great stuff Gypsy! Cool to hear you're visiting Michigan, hope you enjoy you're stops. Bring you're detector just in case Boobie and a couple of the other guys haven't got everything out of the ground.
