Lake Sturgeon on the Black River.

Hello,
My son and I went fishing last night and while there we saw another young man land this fish. He had another one on that appeared to be quite a bit larger that he had on for twenty minutes before we left. My son had something large on that broke his line. We,re going back this afternoon to try again.

Those are some nice shots there. That is a fun size to bring in. And they can really waer you out. LOL.
Back in the 70's when I was living in northern Michigan, we were repairing some boat houses and docks in the Indian River
and we were seeing the Sturgeon down on the bottom in 4 feet of water spawning. We were on the job and supposed to be working but we spent some time watching them. It was rather exciting when we spotted them and realized what they were doing. Most of the ones we saw were around 6 feet long. The water was pretty clear and we had a good view of them. I didn't even own a camera
at that time so I never thought of trying to get any pictures.

Never even thought to look, but can you keep them this time of year ? They've started running on the Wolf as well.

Nice picture and fish that sure looks like a whopper. Hey steve71 my granddad used to have us shoot those gar in Arkansas with 22's cause they'd eat all the good fish and nibble on the stringers in the water along with the snappers. The Plumber.
