It has been suggested that this is from circa 1760. I don't know. But, if it is I figure it
deserves enough respect to at least try to identify.
The pictures below are from many angles, orientations, different amounts of wet/dryness. It's about as
clean as I think it's going to get.
It's non-magnetic and weighs around 8.5 grams.
I'm figuring a common ordinary button. I do see what I think is some sort of pattern
on it, but my eyes just aren't good enough .
So, if you have some time and/or just like a puzzle. Take a peek and see
if you see a pattern and if it's one you recognize.












In any case, I'm not expecting much.
But anything that might be over 250 years old is worthy of a respectful try.
