Thats a great button. Anything with a design on it is a bonus.

nice button, its probally a cape button, good luck on your next hunt!

Hey KSDIVER, I believe I have a button very similar to this one, Almost identicle, found in Ohio. I'll look in my collection and if I do I'll take a pic and show tomorrow after work.
By the way i grew up in Pennsylvania, man I miss the hunting back home.

Really neat old button, any time frame on it?

From the site I found my example.... 1780's to 1810 tops.

Indiantrade,
I would very much like to see the button you found - Please post a picture when you get a chance.

I am not a button expert, but from the feedback I've received it is dated late 1700's. We have also dug a few shoe buckles and other buttons at this location. No coins except for one copper that is worn smooth and has the letter "W" carved into it.

Sorry guys, This button is not exactly like the one that you found, I know I have the exact one somewhere but will need to look threw my collection. When I do locate it I'll post a picture of it as well.
